iR2970 Internal RAID Module with 1 Floppy Bay and Dual 2.5" HDD/SSD Support
Featuring optional hardware RAID mode and user-friendly GUI RAID mode for effortless RAID configuration adjustments
Seamless integration into your PC or Server, featuring 4 mode options: RAID 1, RAID 0, JBOD, and SPAN (BIG)
The iR2970 not only offers a wide range of RAID features but also has a user-friendly design for installation. With a physical size comparable to a 3.5" HDD, the iR2970 allows for easy integration into your PC/Server, enabling you to benefit from its numerous RAID capabilities.
Featuring four RAID modes (RAID 1, RAID 0, JBOD, and SPAN (BIG)), the iR2970 enables users to choose the most suitable mode based on their specific system needs. For those focused on security and redundancy of their operating system, RAID 1 mode with a high-speed SSD hard drive is advisable. On the other hand, if you are seeking enhanced storage performance and capacity expansion, RAID 0 or SPAN mode can be utilized to boost your gaming system's performance.
The iR2970's adaptability and simple installation process make it an invaluable component for tailoring storage configurations to individual requirements, ultimately contributing to a superior user experience.
iR2970 maintains the same SATA connector locations, dimensions, and screw hole positions as those found on a standard 3.5" hard disk drive
The RAIDON iR2970 internal RAID module is compatible with SATA III 6.0 Gb/s host interfaces and utilizes a SATA 15-pin power supply. Its connector locations are identical to those of a 3.5" hard drive, eliminating the need for additional brackets during installation. Simply integrate the iR2970 into your existing PC to upgrade it into a system with hardware RAID storage capabilities.
The iR2970 features RAID mode selections that simplify configuration changes and optimize the RAID setup process
When the iR2970 operates in hardware RAID mode, users can conveniently modify storage settings through the rear panel, streamlining RAID configuration. The rear panel enables switching and fine-tuning among four RAID modes: RAID 1/0, JBOD, and SPAN (BIG), providing users with a versatile range of storage solutions.
RAID 1 functionality offers fully automated redundancy, ensuring data integrity and protection. RAID 0 implementation augments storage capacity and optimizes performance. The JBOD mode allows for independent data access across two discrete disks. The BIG mode combines the storage capacities of two independent disks for an aggregated total.
The iR2970 includes a graphical user interface (GUI) software solution that allows for monitoring the status of the RAID configuration
In GUI RAID mode, Windows users can utilize the RAIDGuide Manager monitoring program to configure a range of RAID modes for the iR2970.
The RAIDGuide Manager monitoring program delivers real-time monitoring of RAID module and hard drive statuses, enabling users to easily assess system performance. Additionally, it provides a LOG function that allows customers to review historical system activity for further analysis and troubleshooting purposes.
The iR2970 is equipped with a removable and hot-swappable tray design, enabling easy installation and removal of two 2.5" HDD/SSD storage devices
The iR2970 is equipped to support 2.5" HDD/SSD hard drives, which can be effortlessly installed and employed by users. Customers have the option to purchase multiple disk tray modules, securely install the disks, and establish a robust storage solution.
This configuration allows for streamlined disk replacement processes in case of failure, minimizing system downtime and reducing maintenance-related wait times. Such design ensures efficient system operation, enabling users to optimize productivity and maintain a competitive edge.
Advantages of Fan-less Cooling Hole Designs for Efficient Heat Dissipation
In high-speed production line applications, system failure can cause significant financial losses and reduced efficiency. To prevent such issues, businesses or SOHO specialists can rely on iR2970's RAID 1 mode, which provides a reliable solution for duplicating data across two hard drives to create a backup in case of unexpected failure. This mode ensures uninterrupted operation, minimizes the risk of system failure, and increases efficiency by enabling 24-hour operation with minimal interruption. As a result, implementing iR2970's RAID 1 mode is a cost-effective solution that minimizes financial losses caused by unexpected downtime in high-speed production line applications.
Enhancing Operation and Maintenance with LED Hard Disk Indicator Light
The iR2970 is furnished with an LED display that presents hard disk data access information in a clear and easily understandable manner. This feature enables users to conveniently monitor the system's status at all times, facilitating operation and maintenance tasks.
The iR2970 is a recommended device for your DVR monitoring system, especially for surveillance applications
The iR2970 is designed to be easily installed in your DVR monitoring system. It comes with the option of an SSD or HDD, and the BIG mode provides a large memory size for video storage. Additionally, the device features RAID 1 mode for data protection, ensuring that your data remains secure. Even if one of the HDDs is defective, the RAID 1 mode feature allows your DVR to continue functioning properly.
The iR2970 offers increased capacity and faster file transfer for digital photo editing
The iR2970 serves as an excellent workstation for photographers, supporting professional software such as PhotoShop or Lightroom for photo editing, as well as enabling quick thumbnail search. The device's RAID 0 storage space is ideal for storing a vast collection of original RAW files. Additionally, it allows for faster file transfer of completed files after subsequent editing.
JBOD facilitates independent data processing and file exchange among HDDs/SSDs
If your project files are too large to be transmitted over the internet, or if you need to use the same data with different devices, such as for editing photo or video files up to 500G to 750G, the removable HDD/SSD tray design of iR2970 is perfect for your requirements. In the independent JBOD mode, each HDD/SSD can work independently like an individual database. This allows you to quickly switch to the required library and backup your critical data offsite to meet various needs in different computer environments.
Performance test result for reference. The test result will vary depend on the test environment.

When power on RAIDbox, it will check the disk status at port 0 first. If the disk at port 0 is damaged when power on, the RAIDbox may retry again and again to get the disk status at port 0, then might cause the system boot failed or cannot recognize the RAIDbox. Please pay attention to the following operations if one disk damaged under RAID 1.
1. If one disk is damaged during operation, and the RAIDbox is still power on, please replace the damaged disk by hot-swap to start rebuild. Please DO NOT turn off the power during rebuild. After rebuild finished, you can turn on / off RAIDbox normally.
2. If the disk at port 0 is damaged and the RAIDbox has been powered off (the system has been shut down), please remove the damaged disk and move the disk at port 1 to Port 0 before turning it on again. Hot-swap in a new disk to port 1 to start rebuild after turn RAIDbox on.
3. The port 0 slot for each RAIDbox might be different. Please contact the customer service (supporting@raidontek.com) if need to check.
These operations applies to these RAIDbox models: iR2770, iR2771, iR2774, iR2775, iR2777, iR2970, iR2975, iR2022, iR2023, iR2024, iR2025, iR2300, iR2301, iR2302, iR2320, iR2321, iR2822, iR2823, iR2824
The issue may arise from existing records or data on the hard drive, preventing RAIDbox from recognizing it. To address this, connect the hard drive to your computer individually, clear its sectors using the operating system, and proceed to reformat it. For step-by-step instructions, please consult the operating system's guidelines. Once completed, you can then reintegrate the formatted hard drive into the RAIDbox for utilization.
